Description
The Velari Flex snaffle with tongue port, loose rings hard offers a firmer feel combined with additional tongue relief for horses that benefit from clearer rein communication and more space in the mouth. It supports precise aids and can help reduce bracing without resorting to metal. Although firmer than the Soft and Medium versions, the bit retains a smooth, rounded surface to avoid unnecessary pressure points.
Made of a firm, non-toxic synthetic material, the surface stays smooth and safe while offering maximum clarity of action. The material is free from harmful substances and suitable for long-term use. Although firmer than the Soft and Medium options, it still avoids the coldness and hardness of traditional metal bits and is thus a thoughtful choice for riders who need clearer communication.
This bit has a firm straight bar with integrated tongue relief. The tongue relief creates extra space for the tongue, helps reduce constant tongue pressure and encourages relaxation in horses that feel restricted in conventional straight bars. By distributing pressure more strongly onto the bars while providing controlled tongue relief, the mouthpiece supports clear signals without sharp or unstable contact. The firm core ensures that the shape stays stable under pressure and enables constant, clearly defined aids throughout the ride.
With loose rings the mouthpiece can move freely, encourages light chewing and helps the horse stay flexible and attentive on the hand. This increased mobility supports precise rein aids and keeps the connection soft and responsive.
Ideal for:
Horses that brace or become heavy in the hand
Horses that prefer more tongue relief
Experienced riders seeking a precise rein response
Advanced dressage work, jumping or versatile disciplines
