Kentucky Horsewear All Weather Classic Outdoor Rug
The Kentucky Turnout Rug All Weather Classic is the basic model among outdoor rugs for horses. It is available with a filling of 0g, 50g, 150g and 300g and can therefore be used both as a rain rug and as a winter rug. This horse rug can also be combined with the Kentucky stable rugs and additionally fitted with a neck section.
The outside of the rug has a waterproof and dirt-repellent coating, making this horse rug suitable for all weather conditions. The 600D ripstop fabric is also breathable and tear-resistant. The inside of the All Weather Classic Rug is particularly easy to care for, does not absorb odours and has an antibacterial effect. The rug is naturally designed in the typical Kentucky style.
In addition to the two stainless steel front fasteners and a strong Velcro fastener, the rug also features cross surcingles and a detachable tail cord. The straps are beautifully trimmed with brown imitation leather.
Kentucky All Weather Hurricane rug
If your horse is outside 24/7 in an open stable or paddock, the All Weather Hurricane Turnout Rug is the perfect choice. This outdoor rug is 100% waterproof and windproof even in heavy rain thanks to the PU coating on the outer material. The rug is also particularly tear and scratch resistant. You may recognise the outer material from the typical yellow fishing jackets and it is currently unique in equestrian sports.
The Huricane model is lined on the inside with artificial rabbit fur, which not only helps to prevent chafing, but also makes your horse's coat shine. An insulating layer forms between the hairs, which absorbs and stores body heat. This keeps your horse warm at all times. For even more protection, you can combine the turnout rug with a neck piece. The neck piece is cut slightly longer at the withers to prevent rain from penetrating.
Kentucky Horsewear Ourdoor Rug All Weather Pro
The Kentucky Horsewear All Weather Pro outdoor rug differs from the other two versions in its extremely tear-resistant outer material. The 1680D outer fabric in a canvas look can withstand even the worst games and scuffles. This blanket is not only particularly durable, but also dirt-repellent, breathable and waterproof.
The inside is lined with artificial rabbit fur, which prevents chafing. Like the other two turnout rugs, this model has no seam at the back to prevent water from seeping in. There are also two stainless steel front fasteners with an additional Velcro fastener, two cross surcingles and a rubberised tail strap. The neck piece can be purchased separately.

How do I wash Kentucky Horsewear outdoor rugs?
All Lentucky All Weather outdoor rugs can be washed in the washing machine at 30° C. Under no circumstances should the rugs be tumble dried! To ensure that the rugs remain waterproof, they should be re-impregnated on the outside after more than five washes. The Hurricane model is an exception to this rule, as its waterproofness is not affected by washing. Therefore, this rug does not need to be impregnated again. In addition, you can either machine wash the horse rug at 30° C or simply hose it off / wipe it down and then air dry it.
It is also a good idea to wash the cross surcingles and the crupper separately in a wash bag so that they do not get tangled.
