The Full Cheek Gag single-jointed of Sweet Iron was developed for riders who seek a bit that offers both clear lateral guidance and light poll effect. It supports the horse in lifting in the shoulder area while at the same time staying straight. The combination of the guiding effect of the Full Cheek side parts and the raising effect of the gag rings makes this bit a versatile training tool. It is especially suitable for horses that tend to lean or fall forward, and helps them in a gentle way to balance themselves better and work more from the hindquarters – without generating resistance. The mouthpiece of Sweet Iron oxidises during use in a natural way. This stimulates saliva formation and supports a soft, accepting contact. The result is a smoother contact and a quieter, more confident way of going. The single-jointed mouthpiece ensures a direct and clear connection and transfers rein aids precisely. When the rein is taken the joint forms a V-shape that distributes the pressure onto tongue and bars. This design is well suited for horses with a higher palate, as the joint lies centrally in the mouth without exerting excessive pressure towards the palate roof. Care & cleaning
After every ride rinse the bit with warm water and dry with a soft cloth. Over time a light patina forms through the natural oxidation of Sweet Iron that can improve taste and acceptance. Store dry and check regularly for smooth, even wear. Ensure that the bit lies the right way round: the star must be on the left side, the Velari logo on the right.
