Description
The LPO regulates the organisation of performance tests to promote the sport of riding, driving and vaulting, German horse breeding and horse keeping. It is binding for all natural and legal persons who are members of the German Equestrian Federation (FN) and who prepare, organise, supervise and participate in performance tests or horse performance tests.
The show jumping rules (LPO) are revised at regular intervals. The new LPO will come into force on 1 January 2024, for example, which contains various innovations for all tournament participants, with a particular focus on animal welfare.
More than 200 changes to the rules and regulations will ensure equine-friendly and modern competition sport.
New test forms, such as the familiarisation jumping test for young horses, the class E cross-country horse test or the dressage rider test as well as the class S dressage horse test, have found their way into the LPO 2024. There are new judging procedures for both dressage tests and show jumping (horse) tests. In eventing, adjustments will be made to the international rules and regulations.
The friendly horse rule will now be used in vaulting.
Under the motto of more flexibility, the possibility of starting "out of competition" has been revised and the correction round has been included.
