Description
This HS weymouth is the ideal choice for horses with a flat palate. It is a straight bar with little tongue relief. Contact with the sensitive palate is thus avoided. Steady, even pressure is exerted across the full width of the tongue. The short shanks ensure a quick action without building up strong pressure on the poll.
Where the weymouth is buckled, the horse's mouth tends to be somewhat narrower. We therefore recommend choosing the weymouth ½ to 1 cm smaller than the bradoon. It is important that the side pieces of the weymouth sit close to the corners of the mouth. If there is too much play between the corner of the mouth and the side piece, the weymouth can jam or also tilt.
The curb chain should be buckled so that an angle of about 30 to 45 degrees is possible between your horse's lip commissure and the lower shank.
