What matters
- Short or long sleeves: Both are permitted according to the LPO equipment catalogue. Short sleeves are pleasant in summer, long sleeves keep you warmer on cool days.
- Material: Technical fabrics are stretchy and breathable. Mesh inserts or perforated fabric provide extra airflow.

The German FN equipment catalogue does not specify a colour for shirts or blouses. In dressage and jumping competitions, a shirt with tie or a blouse is usually required, worn with light-coloured breeches. Further requirements may be stated in the schedule, depending on the class.
