Belts for riders

More than just holding up your breeches

Belts for riders

A belt keeps your breeches where they belong and turns breeches and shirt into a complete outfit. Here you will find riding belts for women, men and children: elastic braided and woven belts, classic leather belts, models with snaffle or stirrup buckles and belts with rhinestones and glitter. The range includes Equestro, ELT, QHP, Euro-Star, Pikeur, Imperial Riding, BR, Busse, LeMieux, Kentucky Horsewear, Equiline and ANKY.

Elastic belts: comfortable in the saddle

You move a lot in the saddle, which is why elastic belts are so popular for riding. They give when you turn or lean forward and do not pinch. The BR Elastic in 25 or 35 mm width is made of a sturdy woven band without fixed holes, so you can fasten it exactly where it fits. The BR Lavish adjusts from 50 to 110 cm. There are also braided stretch belts such as the QHP Jorine, the ELT Malina stretch belt and the Imperial Riding braided belt. With the Jorine you simply push the prong through the braid, so it is infinitely adjustable. The Malina measures 93 cm (S/M) and 113 cm (L/XL) unstretched. Equestro and LeMieux combine elastic belts with leather or faux leather ends, the LeMieux with a horseshoe-shaped buckle.

Leather belts: classic and long-lasting

A leather belt goes with breeches just as well as with jeans. Equestro has the largest selection: belts made of soft leather with a stainless steel buckle, with a logo buckle, with Southwest or Navajo embroidery and as a reversible belt in smooth leather that you can wear on either side. The classic Pikeur leather belts come in a transparent round tin and, according to the manufacturer, can be shortened. The ANKY leather belt is made of 100% genuine leather and has a size adjustment system. The Equiline Ralph is a unisex leather belt with an embroidered logo. At Busse you will find the polo-style GLENN with gold-coloured fittings and the country-style ELLIOT. ELT offers the Gemma with a three-colour thread inlay; both ELT leather belts are about 3 cm wide.

Snaffles, bits and stirrups as buckles

Many riding belts show where your heart lies. Equestro has women's belts with a bit buckle, a belt with a snaffle buckle and clincher, and leather belts with a snaffle motif along the entire length. QHP decorates the Ricki and Emberly belts with two bits and rhinestones, the Jadie has an engraved bit pattern and the Stirrup a stirrup buckle.

Glitter, rhinestones and pearls

For everyone who likes a bit of sparkle: the cowhide QHP Lupine has scattered rhinestones, the buffalo leather Hailyn a glitter inlay, and the Chianti is made of burgundy patent leather. The QHP Jaily has a horseshoe buckle with rhinestones, and on the Vaila competition belt the entire belt is set with rhinestones. Euro-Star offers the Glittery with a glitter insert and the narrow Andria (1.8 cm) with a horse-head buckle. There is also the braided glitter belt from Pikeur, the ELT Jewel with rhinestones, the LeMieux Crystal leather belt and the Kentucky handmade Pearls belt with handcrafted pearls on vegan faux leather and a gold-plated buckle.

Narrow, practical, for children

If you like narrow belts, go for the 1.8 cm wide Euro-Star belts Alissa, Antonia and Andria. The Euro-Star Josta can be worn on the hips or at the waist and has three metal squares to which you can attach the round Euro-Star pouch for keys and small items. For children there is the Euro-Star Vivian with a horse-head buckle, the Imperial Riding children's braided belt and the elastic Equestro children's belt with cross pattern.

Warm in winter: the heated belt

A special case is the ELT Comfort Heat heated belt: it heats the lower back at three levels (45, 50 and 55 °C); the power bank is not included. You will find more heated items in the ELT Comfort Heat collection.

The right length

With many manufacturers, the belt length refers to the distance from the end of the buckle to the middle hole; this is how QHP describes it, for example. It is best to measure a belt that fits you well and compare it with the size given with the item. Elastic and braided belts are more flexible; leather belts from Pikeur and ANKY can be shortened.

Belts as a gift

A belt makes a lovely gift for riders, also together with riding socks or a hat from Hats, headbands and scarves. You will find more ideas under Gifts for riders, matching breeches under Breeches and everything else under Accessories.

Many riders like elastic or braided belts because they give in the saddle and do not pinch, for example BR Elastic, QHP Jorine or ELT Malina. Leather belts are the classic choice for breeches and jeans.

Measure a well-fitting belt from the end of the buckle to the middle hole and compare it with the size given with the item. Elastic belts without fixed holes, such as the BR Elastic, can be fastened at any point.
