Description
This high-quality, double-jointed eggbutt snaffle is made of solid Cuprigan with stainless steel rings. Cuprigan is an alloy of 89% copper, 7% aluminium, 3% iron and 1% zinc. The oxidation process of the material produces a pleasant smell and taste. The anatomical shape follows the form of the horse's mouth, enabling gentle and even pressure distribution. The combination of the shape and the unique composition of Cuprigan stimulates the chewing process and saliva production, which can create a pleasant connection with the sensitive horse's mouth. The bit has a soft effect on the mouth. The mouthpiece is 16 mm thick and the oval bit rings have a diameter of 55 mm.
An eggbutt snaffle has rings that cannot rotate freely. Aids therefore act more directly. This bit type is generally well accepted because the mouthpiece sits relatively firmly in the mouth.
With a double-jointed bit the mouthpiece consists of three parts. The middle part of the mouthpiece lies flat on the tongue. This creates more pressure on the tongue than with a single-jointed mouthpiece. The thicker the centre piece, the more pressure is exerted on the tongue.
