Description:
This double-jointed eggbutt snaffle has a spiral stainless steel roller in the middle of the mouthpiece. This roller encourages your horse to play and creates higher tongue activity. As a result your horse produces more saliva, which ensures better acceptance of the bit and a relaxed feel.
Product features:
The Sweet Iron bits are made of blue steel and, through contact with saliva, give off a sweet-tasting surface rust. This sweet taste stimulates the natural production of saliva, so the horse foams more and accepts the bit better.
The anatomical design follows the shape of the horse's mouth and creates a soft and even pressure distribution. In a double-jointed bit the mouthpiece consists of three parts. The middle part of the mouthpiece lies flat on the tongue. This creates more pressure on the tongue than with a single-jointed mouthpiece. The thicker the centre piece, the more pressure is applied to the tongue.
An eggbutt snaffle has rings that cannot rotate freely. Aids thus act more directly. This bit type is generally well accepted because the mouthpiece sits relatively firmly in the mouth.
Maintenance:
If a Sweet Iron bit is not used for a while, an orange-brown rust layer can form on the mouthpiece. This can easily be removed by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
