Description
This high-quality double-jointed bradoon (eggbutt snaffle) is made from solid Cuprigan with stainless steel rings. Cuprigan is an alloy of 89% copper, 7% aluminium, 3% iron and 1% zinc. The oxidation process of the material produces a pleasant smell and taste. The anatomical shape follows the shape of the horse's mouth, allowing gentle and even pressure distribution. The combination of the shape and the unique composition of Cuprigan stimulates chewing and salivation, which can create a pleasant connection with the sensitive horse's mouth. The bit has a normal effect on the mouth. The mouthpiece is 10 mm thick and the bit rings have a diameter of 50 mm.
An eggbutt snaffle has rings that cannot rotate freely. This makes aids more direct. This type of bit is generally well accepted because the mouthpiece sits relatively firmly in the mouth.
The bradoon is used in combination with a dressage curb. Thanks to the small rings more space remains for the dressage curb. It is recommended to choose a bradoon that is approx. 0.5 to 1 cm larger than the curb.
In a double-jointed bit the mouthpiece consists of three parts. The middle section of the mouthpiece lies flat on the tongue. This creates more pressure on the tongue than with a single-jointed mouthpiece. The thicker the middle section, the more pressure is applied to the tongue.
