Description
This Bemelmans Weymouth bit enables particularly sensitive aids that meet the highest standards. Thanks to the optimal adaptation of the Bemelmans Weymouth to the horse's mouth, horses come well onto the hand. The curb is soft in the transitions and the mouthpiece, which is shaped to follow the sensitive palatal arch, tapers towards the middle.
The high, forward-inclined port creates space for thick tongues. When the curb is accepted, this special shape produces even, soft pressure distribution on the tongue. That makes this curb ideal for horses with fleshy, thick tongues as well as for sensitive horses that evade tongue pressure by raising or sticking out the tongue. The short shanks ensure a quick action without building strong pressure on the poll.
Where the curb is buckled, the horse's mouth tends to be somewhat narrower. We therefore recommend choosing the curb ½ to 1 cm smaller than the bradoon. It is important that the side pieces of the curb sit snugly against the corners of the mouth. If there is too much play between the corner of the mouth and the side piece, the curb can lock or tilt.
The curb chain should be fastened so that an angle of about 30 to 45 degrees is possible between your horse's mouth corner and the lower shank.
