Description
This Bemelmans riding curb with rotating side pieces enables particularly sensitive aids that meet the highest demands. Mouthpiece and side pieces act independently of each other in this bit. This allows poll pressure while at the same time relieving the tongue. Tilting due to one-sided rein aids is thus avoided.
The high and forward-angled tongue relief creates space for thick tongues. Through the optimum adaptation of the Bemelmans riding curb to the horse's mouth, horses approach the hand well. The curb is soft in the transitions and the mouthpiece, which is modelled on the sensitive palate arch in shape, tapers towards the centre. This makes this curb ideal for horses with fleshy, thick tongues as well as for sensitive horses that evade pressure on the tongue by lifting or sticking it out.
Where the curb is buckled, the horse's mouth tends to be a little narrower. We therefore recommend choosing the curb ½ to 1 cm smaller than the bradoon. It is important that the side pieces of the curb finish tightly at the corners of the mouth. If there is too much play between the corner of the mouth and the side piece, the curb can lock or also tilt.
The curb chain should be fitted so that an angle of about 30 to 45 degrees is possible between the corner of your horse's mouth and the lower shank.
