Description
This high-quality, double-jointed Baucher snaffle with upward-facing cheeks with ring and leverage is made of solid Cuprigan with stainless-steel rings. Cuprigan is an alloy of 89% copper, 7% aluminium, 3% iron and 1% zinc. The oxidation process of the material produces a pleasant smell and taste. The anatomical shape follows the shape of the horse’s mouth, which allows gentle and even pressure distribution. The combination of the shape and the unique composition of Cuprigan stimulates the chewing process and saliva production, which can create a pleasant connection with the sensitive horse’s mouth. The upward-facing cheeks with ring stand slightly outwards, which ensures optimal freedom for the horse’s head. The mouthpiece is 16 mm thick and the cheeks are 110 mm long.
A Baucher snaffle has upward-facing cheeks with a ring for attaching the cheekpieces. Unlike other snaffles, this bit has slight leverage and exerts pressure behind the ears. The bit is well suited to sensitive horses.
On a double-jointed bit the mouthpiece consists of three parts. The middle part of the mouthpiece lies flat on the tongue. This creates more pressure on the tongue than with a single-jointed mouthpiece. The thicker the centre piece, the more pressure is exerted on the tongue.?
