Vegan, sustainable and unique - "Cortica" reins made from cork
Cork products have long been used outside the equestrian world as a sustainable alternative to leather. However, they have not been widely used in equestrian sports. We would now like to change this. We are now one of the few equestrian companies to offer vegan riding accessories made from cork. We want to leave a sustainable footprint and offer vegan horse lovers a great alternative to leather. The products have been developed and put through their paces for almost two years, constantly being modified and adapted. The result is our sustainable and vegan "Cortica" collection, consisting of bridle, reins, breastplate, browbands, chaps, ankle boots and spur straps.
The vegan rubberised reins "Cortica" are the perfect complement to the vegan bridle. The end pieces and the martingale stoppers are made of cork. They are 16 mm wide and have five bars on each side.

Cork fabric - the vegan leather
Sustainable & vegan
Cork, the bark of the cork oak, is a renewable, biodegradable raw material. The cork oak can live for over 300 years and is peeled by hand approximately every 12 years during its lifetime. This makes the tree more resilient and ensures long-lasting cork oak forests that protect against soil erosion and bind many times the amount of CO₂ compared to other trees. A large proportion of cork oaks grow in Portugal, where they represent a very important ecosystem for many rare animals.
Durable & unique
Cork fabric, also known as cork leather, is very tear-resistant, hard-wearing and water-repellent. The cork sheets from the bark are bonded together with an organic adhesive to form larger sheets and cut thinly. They are then put together like a puzzle and attached to a fabric carrier material, sealed and can then be further processed as cork fabric. Like leather, every cork fabric is unique.
Easy to care for
Cork products are easy to care for by simply wiping them with a damp cloth or sponge.
