Description
This high-quality, double-jointed 3-ring snaffle bit is made of solid Cuprigan with stainless steel rings. Cuprigan is an alloy of 89% copper, 7% aluminium, 3% iron and 1% zinc. The oxidation process of the material produces a pleasant smell and taste. The anatomical shape follows the form of the horse's mouth, enabling gentle and even pressure distribution. The combination of the shape and the unique composition of Cuprigan stimulates the chewing process and salivation, which can create a pleasant connection with the sensitive horse's mouth. The bit has a normal action on the mouth and is suitable for horses that are hard in the mouth. The mouthpiece is 16 mm thick and the centre bit rings have a diameter of 70 mm.
This 3-ring snaffle bit is fitted with an additional ring at the top and bottom. When the cheekpieces are attached to the uppermost rings and the reins to the middle or lower rings, a leverage effect is created. The further down the reins are attached, the greater the leverage. The middle and lower rings can be connected with a pelham strap.
With a double-jointed bit the mouthpiece consists of three parts. The middle part of the mouthpiece lies flat on the tongue. This creates more pressure on the tongue than with a single-jointed mouthpiece. The stronger the centre piece, the more pressure is exerted on the tongue.
