Vegan, sustainable and unique - "Cortica" calf chaps made from cork
Products made from cork have long been a sustainable alternative to leather outside the equestrian world. However, they have not yet been widely used in equestrian sports. We would now like to change this. We are now one of the few equestrian companies to offer vegan riding accessories made from cork. We want to leave a sustainable footprint and offer vegan horse lovers a great alternative to leather. The products have been developed and put through their paces for almost two years, constantly being modified and adapted. The result is our sustainable and vegan "Cortica" collection, consisting of bridle, reins, breastplate, browbands, chaps, ankle boots and spur straps.
The vegan "Cortica" chaps are made of cork on the outside and synthetic nubuck on the inside, which ensures a good grip on the saddle. The textile lining ensures great comfort. The elasticated inserts allow the chaps to fit your calves perfectly and also make them easy to put on. The elegant contrasting stripe on the outside is a pretty eye-catcher and can be found on all products from the "Cortica" cork range.

Cork fabric - the vegan leather
Sustainable & vegan
As the bark of the cork oak, cork is a renewable, biodegradable raw material. The cork oak can live for over 300 years and is peeled by hand approximately every 12 years during its lifetime. This makes the tree more resilient and ensures long-lasting cork oak forests that protect against soil erosion and bind many times the amount of CO₂ compared to other trees. A large proportion of cork oaks grow in Portugal, where they represent a very important ecosystem for many rare animals.
Durable & unique
Cork fabric, also known as cork leather, is very tear-resistant, hard-wearing and water-repellent. The cork sheets from the bark are bonded together with an organic adhesive to form larger sheets and cut thinly. They are then put together like a puzzle and attached to a fabric carrier material, sealed and can then be further processed as cork fabric. Like leather, every cork fabric is unique.
Easy to care for
Cork products are easy to care for by simply wiping them with a damp cloth or sponge.
