No matter which bridle you choose from Schockemöhle, they are all made of high-quality leather. The leather was vegetable tanned, which, in contrast to chrome-tanned leather, has a significantly lower impact on the environment. In addition, vegetable-tanned leather does not cause allergic skin reactions in humans or horses. Therefore lays Schockemöhle Sports We attach particular importance to the fact that none of the materials used in the snaffle impair health in any way.
Getting the right bridle size for your horse is one of the important things to consider when buying a new bridle. Since not every warmblood, thoroughbred or pony corresponds to the standard measurements, you should measure your horse's head before buying a noseband. You measure the length of the bridle from the corner of the mouth over the poll to the other corner of the mouth. You can find the right size for the Schockemöhle bridle in the table. You can find the right noseband by measuring two finger widths under the cheekbone. You can also find the right size in the table here.

Schockemöhle Sports offers many different bridle models for horses. We offer you a small overview here. The Equitus series Includes the brand's special anatomical bridles and double bridles. Part of the brand are the special bridles Equitus Alpha, Equitus Beta, Equitus Delta and Equitus Zeta. The curb bridle from the series is called Equitus Gamma. A special feature is the new fit, which leaves important nerves, veins and arteries free.
The anatomical bridles from Schockemoehle, such as the Concord bridle or the Milan double bridle, initially appear like normal combined nosebands. But the unique neck piece allows the horse unrestricted ear play. It was specially adapted to the anatomy of the horse's head and is softly lined. The anatomical bridles reduce the pressure on sensitive areas such as cheekbones and poll, which significantly maximizes the comfort for your horse.
Of course, Scockemöhle Sports also offers the classic models: English combined and Swedish combined bridles, Hanoverian models and also the Mexican bridle. You can take advantage of each type down here read. Which bridle model you choose for your horse depends on your riding style, the shape of your horse's head and its nature.
The Equitus models are probably the best-known Schockemöhle bridles. They ensure less pressure on the horse's poll, nerves and blood vessels. They also allow free breathing. A curved noseband avoids the cheekbone and the horse's main facial nerve. An anatomical headpiece minimizes pressure on the neck ligament and the atlas joint while providing enough space for the ears. The bit is stabilized by short cheek pieces, because excessive vibrations are prevented. Due to the cut of the Equitus bridle, the impact on the bit is also transmitted as gentle pressure on the horse's nose. This creates fine communication. The Equitus line includes bridles with and without flash straps, as well as double bridles. There is also a model with a lambskin pad to protect very sensitive horses' heads.
"More comfort through less pressure" is the motto of the anatomical bridles from Schockemöhle. A softly lined headpiece with a connection in front avoids the neck band and atlas joint. Thus, the pressure at these points is significantly reduced. It also offers a lot of ear freedom. The cut-out noseband has enough space for cheekbones and teeth. Headpiece and noseband are preformed so that they sit comfortably on the horse's head from the very first day of riding.
The Select & Mix series gives you the opportunity to put together an individual bridle for your horse. You can choose from many individual parts with anatomical properties to find the perfect tailor-made bridle or double bridle for your horse. You have the choice and you can very quickly turn a Swedish combined bridle into a Mexican bridle without having to forego the advantages of an anatomical headpiece. Double bridles are also available in this series.
The Equitus series offers maximum comfort. This benefits the sensitive horse's head, because the snaffles and double bridles bypass the main facial nerve and leave important veins and arteries free. The head piece of every Equitus bridle is softly padded and leaves plenty of room for your ears. Your horse can breathe freely thanks to a newly positioned flash strap. The Equitus Zeta Bridle also offers a soft lining with lambskin. To take advantage of Schockemöhle Sports To use Equitus bridles correctly, the bridle or double bridle must fit your horse correctly. The exit point of the main facial nerve must remain free with any type of bridle. You'll find it above and about two finger widths from the cheekbone. Roughly adjust the snaffle first and then put the bridle on your horse. Fasten the throat lash first, making sure to leave a hand's breadth of space between the horse's head and the lash. Now adjust the height of the noseband and the cheek pieces attached to it so that a fold (a rough, commonly used specification is one to three folds in the corner of the mouth) forms in the corner of the mouth. In addition, when the length is correctly adjusted, the noseband is two finger widths below the cheekbone. You can also adjust the cheek pieces in the lower area. You can then close the noseband. If the length is correct, you can slide two fingers between the nose piece and the bridge of the nose. The browband must not restrict ear freedom. Here, too, there should be room for two fingers upright between the browband and the forehead. In the video below you can watch the correct adjustment of an Equitus bridle or double bridle again.
Schockemöhle Sports offers a variety of anatomically shaped snaffles and double bridles. The Anatomic Line also protects the sensitive horse's head from pressure and increases comfort. The anatomical bridle Rio Select also offers a Mexican noseband. The middle part, which is adapted to the bridge of the nose, is particularly soft, which makes fur lining unnecessary. The noseband straps and connecting rings are also lined to avoid unpleasant friction and pressure points. The Seattle bridle is an anatomically shaped, Hanoverian bridle. The flat side parts and the underlaid buckles offer high wearing comfort. The embedded stoppers on the ring guarantee that the noseband is always correctly positioned at a 90° angle. In addition, the anatomical bridle comes with two different browbands; So you always have the choice of whether your horse should wear a crystal browband or a leather browband. If your horse needs a Swedish combined noseband, the snaffle is the one Schockemöhle Sports
Malibu a good choice. It also protects your horse's sensitive head. The headpiece is also adapted to the horse's anatomy and leaves a lot of freedom for ear play. A special feature of this anatomical bridle are the rounded cheek pieces, a visual highlight.
Also with the anatomical bridles from Schockemöhle Sports first fasten the throat lash with a hand’s breadth of space between the horse’s head and the lash. Adjust the cheek pieces so that the bit forms a crease in the corner of the mouth. Then adjust the noseband so that the noseband is two finger widths below the cheekbone and close the noseband. Fasten the flash strap in front of the bit if it is on your bridle. Two fingers must fit between the noseband / flashing strap and the bridge of the nose. The browband shouldn't be too small either, leaving two fingers of space between the forehead and the browband. With English and Swedish combined bridles, also make sure that all straps are attached in the right place. The noseband with noseband lies above the cheekpieces and the throatlash behind. You can see how to adjust anatomical bridles correctly in the video.
In order to keep the bridle for your horse supple and beautiful for a long time, you have to care for it properly. You should regularly remove dirt and sweat from the leather. This works particularly well with the right leather cleaning. There are emulsions, leather soap or cleaning for spraying. You should then treat the bridle with a leather care product such as leather balm, leather oil or leather lotion. Leather care keeps your horse's bridle soft and supple.
