This has now existed for over 10 years and is revolutionary, because Veredus developed the first leg protection made of carbon-nitrex gel with this jumping gaiter. In addition to the excellent protection, it also ensures double ventilation of the horse's leg. Dressage horses have different leg protection requirements than show jumpers or hunters, for example. You need protection that also acts like a bandage. Ligaments and joints should be supported and protected from blows. Veredeus therefore developed the Piaffe gaiter. The Veredus Gaiters Piaffe Evo are available for both front legs and hind legs. The anatomically shaped shell can be placed perfectly on the horse's leg. In addition, the anatomical shape ensures optimal support for the extensor and flexor tendons. An X-shaped extra protection is built into the rear area of the gaiter. This consists of EVA foam and reduces the transmission of blows and impacts by around 40%. So the flexor tendon is extra well protected. Also against overheating Veredus come up with something. The neoprene is micro-perforated to ensure good leg ventilation. The quick-release fasteners can also be hooked on and off with just one hand, but keep the gaiter firmly on the leg.
The selection of gaiters for show jumping is at Veredus high. Here, the deep bent eyes in particular require special protection. It can happen that horses kick their front legs when they land, damaging the tendons. therefore has Veredus developed gaiters that provide extra protection in this area. The Grand Slam Carbon Gel gaiters have been specially designed in honor of the Veredus Rider Scott Brash developed when he won the Rolex Grand Slam. Carbon and Nitrexgel protect the flexor tendon from hits and impacts from the horse's hoof. The 3DMeshfabric with micro-perforated neoprene AEROX ensures optimal ventilation. The anatomical shell adapts perfectly to the horse's leg.
The Veredus carbon gel and Veredus Carbon Gel Vento boots are also equipped with a nitrex gel and carbon to protect the tendons. The micro-perforated neoprene AEROX is also used in the Vento gaiter. Basically, the Grand Slam Carbon Gel and the Carbon Gel Vento Gaiter are the same except for the outer appearance. The Carbon Gel Vento gaiter is also available as an STS - i.e. Save the Sheep version. A synthetic faux fur is used here. This protects against friction, as it has wide and fluffy mesh through the Sand can escape more easily. In addition, it is easy to wash and dries quickly. The Veredus Boots Grand Prix and Olympus consist of an anatomical "Double Density" outer shell with an EVA foam to protect the flexor tendon. This outer shell consists of two parts with different densities. The main shell is made of an extremely durable and flexible polyurethane mixture. This so-called TPU 54 SHORE main shell preserves the elastic and mechanical properties from -15 °C to 50 °C outside temperature without losing strength or flexibility. The extra protection "X" made of TPU 66 Shore is located in the rear part of the gaiter. This is a firmer polyurethane compound. The carbon is also used there. Both parts are firmly connected to each other during production. In the Grand Prix variant, the gaiter is lined with lambskin for increased comfort on sensitive horses.
A recent development by veredus is the Carbon Gel X Pro gaiter, which was created in cooperation with Marcus Ehning. In addition to the double density outer shell, this offers increased knee protection. This protection prevents damage to horses that tend to hit the area below the knee of the opposite leg with their hooves. Here, too, the carbon gel protection is used, both in the rear gaiter area and as ankle protection. The shock-absorbing properties reduce the transmission of impacts and compressions by 40%.
Almost all leggings that Veredus has developed are also suitable for riding off-road. To be on the safe side, you should always choose gaiters and a fetlock boot that protect the horse's leg all around in the cannon bone area. The Carbon Shield ball of protection can be used as additional protection, which covers the ball of the hoof and effectively protects against impacts.
