Eggbut bits are characterized by a firm connection of the side rings with the bit. They are available as single-jointed, double-jointed and as a straight bit.
Please note that we do not give any guarantee against biting. Please do not test the bit in the horse's mouth if you are unsure of the size, as we cannot take back bits with scratches.
Worth knowing about olive head bits
Olive head bits can be compared in their mode of action with snaffles, but the rein aids are transferred more directly. Due to the firm connection of the mouthpiece and ring, the bit lies quietly in the horse's mouth. In addition, the lateral guidance of the horse is simplified by this bit. Olive-head bits are not recommended for young horses if the horse does not yet have a bit, as well as for riders with hard hands or beginners with restless hands, since the movement is transmitted directly to the tongue and not cushioned. Egg-head bits should usually be chosen 0,5 to 1 cm smaller than a ring bit so that the side parts rest loosely on the horse's mouth.
