There are classic checkered riding socks, boot socks with sequins, knee socks for cold winter days made from a wool mix or extra thin functional knee socks for warm summer days. But why do most riders wear riding socks over their breeches?
The trouser legs of the breeches can slide up due to the movement when riding in the riding boots - knee socks can prevent this by enclosing the trouser leg without constricting the leg. In addition, the formation of wrinkles and uncomfortable pressure points in the riding boot can be prevented. In addition, the sole and heel of the riding socks are often equipped with terrycloth or a hard-wearing material, as these areas are particularly stressed by friction. For cold and humid winter days, there are knee socks that, thanks to the materials, are precisely designed to keep the sensitive toes, feet and lower legs warm. Riding socks made from a wool mix are of course less suitable for warm summer days when the feet sweat more easily. That is why there are special antibacterial socks with an extra thin, breathable shaft for such temperatures.
In winter, hats and headbands keep your head and ears warm. The knitted hats with and without a bobble are not only very practical, they also look super chic. For a glamorous look, the headbands from top equestrian brands such as Pikeur, HV Polo, Kingsland or Schockemöhle Sports decorated with rhinestones. But the neck also needs to be protected from the wet and cold weather or icy temperatures on winter days. Lambswool or cuddly soft knitted scarves are ideal for this. A tube scarf is particularly practical for riding, because it prevents loose ends from getting in the way.
A riding belt is one of the most popular riding accessories, because a belt not only looks chic, but also serves the purpose of ensuring that the breeches fit perfectly. The belts for riders can be made of high quality leather or a noble braided material. Belts that are adorned with glitter, lacquer and rhinestones and thus complement the equestrian or tournament outfit in a fashionable way are particularly striking.
