Pallas Pro girth - a test report

Carina has the Pallas Pro long girth from Schockemöhle Sports extensively tested. Here is her experience report:

My horse needs a new harness. No problem, what length should it be?
But sometimes it's not that simple. Just because you get the girth on doesn't mean it will automatically fit the horse. The question of whether you need a short belt, long belt or studded belt is quickly answered. But may it be an anatomically shaped belt, fur belt, leather belt, neoprene belt or cord belt? The choice is huge. And each of these straps can do something special. Wouldn't it be great if it all rolled into one. Or maybe it already exists?

Yes! But more on that in a moment.

I've tried a lot of harnesses. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a mold rider. And yes, unfortunately, especially in summer, the cliché applies that molds are sensitive to skin and fur. Precisely such fine areas as in the belt position have very short fur in summer, and the skin underneath is quickly irritated. In addition, sweat is naturally produced precisely at this point, which also attacks the sensitive area. That's why I often ride with a fur harness in summer, but I have the feeling that these rub less or soak up sweat and that I have the problem better under control.

Pallas Pro - flexible thanks to changeable supports

This summer I tested a completely new harness - the Pallas Pro long harness

The Pallas Pro by Schockemöhle Sports has interested me for a long time. The design is very eye-catching, I've never seen a strap in a similar shape.
Admittedly, at first glance, the belt looks very narrow. The individual leather elements are connected to one another with a kind of belt strap and do not necessarily appear stable. However, the resulting flexibility of the elements is a huge advantage. In this way, the belt can adapt to the horse's movements. The necessary stability is created by the belt pads.

The Pallas Pro consists of two elements that can be flexibly combined. Various pads can be attached to the belt itself. You can switch between fur, soft poly and leather in no time at all. The two belt elements can be easily joined or taken apart with a Velcro fastener. Depending on the situation, you can put the belt together appropriately. Super practical for cleaning too, because both the soft poly and the fur can be washed.

The different pads make the belt stable and super comfortable. The anatomical cut enables optimal pressure distribution, especially the middle plate is nice and wide. The recess in the elbow area allows excellent freedom of movement. In addition, the belt has elastic inserts on both sides. A very important criterion for me, because only with elastic on both sides can the pressure be evenly distributed on both sides.

In addition, the belt has practical details. For example, a D-ring is attached to the middle plate, which can be fixed with a Velcro strap. So you can strap in a martingale or something similar if necessary, without the ring dangling around when you are not using it.

The conclusion - the Pallas Pro long belt is convincing

In my eyes it is Schockemöhle Sports Pallas Pro a super high quality strap that has been really well thought out. In addition, the belt is absolutely chic. Especially with the leather pad, it looks super classy. Definitely also chic for the tournament. With the Pallas Pro I got the problem of chafing under control, as well as the problem that with Capri the saddle tends to slide backwards.
The Olymp Pro is the studded belt from the series of Schockemöhle Sports, this is next on my wish list!
