Qualitative turnout rugs for your horse have to cover certain properties: On the one hand, a turnout rug should be waterproof, on the other hand it should also be robust. This means that a good turnout rug for your horse will not soak up water when it rains and should not be damaged by your horse's everyday activities. Horsewear is mostly made of nylon and polyester. Here it is worthwhile for you to take a look at the specified density of the meshes. The higher the denier or "D" unit of measure, the more durable the turnout. Turnout blankets can also be used as rain blankets. In addition, the breathable material has a positive effect on the horse's skin climate.
Sick and old horses also need a thin pasture blanket in summer because their own immune system is weakened. If your horse falls ill in winter, we also offer a lined stable blanket from our range. Our horsewear models are available with a stable fastener in front of the horse's chest, adjustable buckles, cross surcingles, a tail flap or gussets. The light rain covers can be improved with the help of so-called liners. For this purpose, 100 to 200 gram blankets are attached to the existing outdoor or rain blankets with Velcro or eyelets. Timely covering prevents the winter coat from growing too densely. This makes it less sweaty on a winter ride.
Our pasture and outdoor blankets are available with different linings. Summer and winter models can be used, depending on how cold your horse feels and the time of year. Basically, a horse feels most comfortable when the ambient temperature is between 5 and 15 degrees Celsius. Turnout rugs marked with 0 gram feeding are ideal for summer and rainy days. Transitional rugs have a padding between 50 and 100 grams. Horse rugs with a padding of more than 150 grams are suitable for winter protection.
