Insects of all kinds like to plague horses and riders in the summer months. A wide variety of insect sprays and other fly repellent preparations are used to ward off them. Especially in the head area, around the horse's ears, eyes and nostrils, you should only use these remedies very carefully or not at all. Since a horse that bangs its head at flies is completely out of concentration, it is recommended that you give it relief and calm with the use of fly hoods, so that it can fully recover while riding can focus you.
